When you read that a watch is Swiss-made, it means that it is held to the most rigorous standards of the horology industry. In 1971, rules were established mandating that any timepiece bearing the “Swiss-made” hallmark must have its mechanics, casing and final inspection take place in Switzerland. Swiss watches are built to last several lifetimes.
Because of this, the big brands are happy to charge tens of thousands of dollars for their Swiss-made timepieces. For our Men’s Swiss Panda Chronograph, we’re charging a Stauer inpossible price. Because Stauer has an inside line on the watch industry, we can offer you this level of craftsmanship from a factory in Bienne, just down the road from our competitors (in fact, many of our workers used to work there) at a fraction of the price.
And what a watch it is. In the watch industry, a Panda is a white-faced watch with three black sub dials, symbolizing a panda’s eyes and mouth. GQ calls the Panda “One of the most unanimously loved watch styles.”
