Emerald’s lush green has soothed souls and excited imaginations since antiquity. Records show that the stone was known and sold in markets in Babylon as early as 4000 B.C. Throughout history, emeralds have been prized and worn by royalty and celebrities - from Cleopatra, Alexander the Great and Charlemagne to Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie O. Its name comes from the ancient Greek word for green, “smaragdus.” It is so prized that, carat for carat, a fine emerald may be two to three times as valuable as a diamond.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce myself: My name is Jack.
Perhaps you’ve heard of my exploits: My years-long journey from Lisbon to Hong Kong by motorcycle; My astounding luck at the baccarat tables of Monaco; My archaeological finds at the Ashkelon dig in Israel.
No? Well then, let me fill you in my latest adventure.
In the North Indian state of Rajasthan you’ll find some of the best emeralds known to man. The problem is, to get to those emeralds you must first traverse the inhospitable Thar Desert, a place that’s very dry, very hot and very unwelcoming. I’d never been before, but my good friend Advik lives in the Rajasthan city of Jaipur —also known as the Pink City because of the color of its buildings — and he promised to take me.
Through wavy sand dunes that reminded me of the Sahara, Advik led me to a secluded cave filled with a trove of some of the most astounding emeralds I’ve ever seen. Though no magic beans were necessary, let’s call this adventure “Jack and the Greenstalk.”
Presenting the Greenstalk Emerald Necklace, a whopping 150 total carats of emeralds gently enhanced to bring out their best green. You’re not going to find this offer anywhere else. Because we got it from the source, we have exclusive rights to these emeralds!
There’s no “Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum”-ing about it: This is a GIANT deal!
Yours,
Jack B.
