Soon he was sawing them in half, putting them back together, taking off their heads, reattaching them, and performing many other tricks that would have gotten him arrested for murder had they proven unsuccessful.
Somehow, I ended up on stage as a volunteer. Ruby placed a gemstone the size of a golf ball on a table and handed me an oversized mallet, asking me to smash it. In one quick swing, the gem shattered into a million pieces. Then, with a flash and a puff of smoke, the pieces vanished, and the Great Gemino asked me to look inside the breast pocket of my jacket. Miraculously, the restored gem had been transported there.
