There’s a very special watch that’s long been associated with the speedway in Daytona. Since 1963, this watch has been synonymous with the famous track and the incredible cars that zoom around it. But the design of the watch itself predates the branding, going all the way back to 1955, and it’s been made even more famous by a certain actor who played one half of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid pairing.
The Speedway Automatic is our tribute to the iconic Daytona watch. This classic timepiece keeps precision time, powered by 27 jewels and your own movement. It features three subdials, pronounced lugs, and a tachymetric bezel designed to measure speed over a fixed distance. We also added a few little luxuries like a mother of pearl dial, a rose-gold finished case, and a crocodile-embossed brown leather strap.
The most noticeable difference between our watch and its iconic inspiration is the price tag. The more famous watch will set you back at least five figures, with its most notable example being auctioned for a world record $17.8 million in 2017. We won’t be charging quite that much. In fact, the Speedway Men’s Watch is laps ahead in terms of affordability.
