On a recent visit to Florence, I asked Claudia, the designer behind many of our gorgeous Italian handbags, what makes a good handbag. She paused for a moment, looked up from the leather samples spread out on the table in front of her and said “four things— proportion, line, material, finish.”
Seems pretty simple right? While each of these elements may be easy to perfect individually, it’s achieving just the right balance between them that’s a sign of a true quality handbag.
