The Sunken City Reveals Stunning Sea Life

Add a splash of ocean charm to your holiday decor Artfully created by skilled glass blowers in Egypt

The discovery of the sunken city of Thonis-Heracleion off the coast of Egypt in 2000 was a remarkable archaeological find. Once a thriving port city in ancient Egypt, it had been lost for over 1,200 years, submerged beneath the Mediterranean Sea. Among the discoveries were colossal statues of gods and pharaohs, intricately carved stone tablets, jewelry, and gold coins. Temples and shrines were also uncovered, preserving the city’s spiritual significance bringing the lost world of Thonis-Heracleion back to life after centuries beneath the waves.

These great finds have been on display in American museums for the last few years. The underwater videos from Egypt also showed some spectacular marine life. And glass blowers in Egypt have brought those to us. We feel like we have made our own archaeological find. The beautiful sea horse and octopus are hand blown … and they are stunning.
