The Bowie Knife has a proud history since Jim Bowie introduced it to the world at large during the famous " or infamous " Vidalia Sandbar incident in 1827. There was something daring and uniquely American in Bowie’s battle royal with multiple assailants, especially since he was armed only with his now famous knife.
The Stag Hunter, made by Frost Cutlery, follows in the tradition of Jim Bowie’s frontier legacy, but is equipped with a shorter blade (5 ⅓”) to insure comfort while being worn. The blade is made of tempered German stainless steel with a hardness of between 52-58 Rockwell test. The handle is crafted of deer stag horn, with a brass crossguard and pommel, and striped with red- and brown-stained pakkawood. The knife is 9 3/4” total length and is the best of 21st-century construction with a classic look inspired by legendary American pioneers.
Each knife is accompanied by a leather sheath with belt loop. The Stag Hunter is a bold collector’s blade that would look just as good on your mantle or hanging at your side. With this blade, you can carve your own niche into your personal wild frontier.
