The art of glass Christmas ornaments was born in Germany in the late 16th century and has flourished ever since. To this day, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic produce some of the finest blown glass Christmas ornaments in the world. The fanciful ornament you see here was made by artisans in Poland who have been creating ornaments for select stores such as Neiman Marcus, Fortnum & Mason in London and French department store chain Galeries Lafayette for more than 20 years.
Each beautiful ornament begins as a sketch inspired by childhood memories and joys of Christmases past. The ornament is individually mouth-blown using traditional glassblowing methods, then carefully hand-painted in gorgeous colors with special finishes and effects added one by one.
