A few decades back, when I first started making watches, I asked my best watchmaker to make something just for me. I wanted a real classic design, so he made me a three eye chronograph with a date display and a sun and moon indicator. A guilloche face with raised roman numeral hours. When a watch salesman first saw my watch, he thought the price was around $7,500. Now, since it was a one of a kind, my watchmaker charged me $1,700 … so the $7,500 guess left me feeling pretty good.
We have made over 3 million timepieces since I founded this business, but I have never let my one-of-a-kind design come to market. Well, I am feeling generous this Christmas, so I am offering a limited edition of 4999 pieces of my “one-of-a-kind watch” and with a nod to generosity this year, I have priced this beautiful timepiece at a Stauer Impossible Price.
