There is decorative glass made outside of the Venetian island of Murano. But the glass made elsewhere is not Murano glass. The glass made elsewhere is not the result of thousands of years of tradition, passed down from generation to generation. The glass made elsewhere is not imbued with the secrets, the technique, or the mystique of Murano glass. And, it’s certainly not what you see here.
The creator of this collection, Manuela Zanvettori comes from a family who have been creating authentic Murano in Venice for over half a century. Manuela grew up seeing her mother make glass jewels, threading thousands of beads and creating beautiful pieces every day. Today she creates her own masterpieces from her studio on the island of Murano.
We are proud to showcase Manuela’s latest work that celebrates the authenticity of this age-old art form. In this collection swirling silvery blue spheres are joined by spheres of lustrous matte blue capturing the blue colors of the glorious Adriatic Sea that sits off Italy’s eastern coast.
