Venice is a stunner. Renowned for ages for its history, architecture and culture, this city in northeastern Italy is built on 118 small islands that are separated by canals and connected by more than 400 bridges.
Wandering the city one night, taking in the familiar sight of the Accademia and Rialto bridges, by wife and I ran into a market. Perusing the stalls, my wife and I were enthralled by the merchant stands filled with local treasures. There was lace from nearby Burano, glasswork from nearby Murano and silk ties adorned with images of the Lion of Venice. But best of all was a collection of Italian-made jewelry featuring the Florentine Cross and an ornate Ricamo ring.
The merchant said the collection was made by his family and gave me his card. Now, I can present the Venetian Romance Earrings to you. Made in Italy by some of that boot-shaped country’s best artisans, these stunning earring are sure to stun.
